DRONEPILOT BASIC (A2)

About the course

The DronePilot Basic (A2) is an online course. With the help of texts, videos and illustrations, you will learn all the theory necessary for the EASA Open-category A2 certificate. You can take as long as you want. When you are ready, you can take the exam at your own pace.

For who?

The course is designed for individuals which are already in possession of the EASA A1/A3 certificate and who are willing to obtain only the EASA A2 certificate. The A2 certificate is required to fly C2-labelled drones in subcategory A2.

Course content 

During the online training, the basics of the following topics are discussed:

• Security & Safety awareness
• Flight Performance
• Meteorology
• Technical & operational measurements

These topics are in line with the knowledge requirements as set by EASA. 

Exam

The online course is concluded with one online exam:

• Exam for the EASA A2 certificate, this exam consists of 30 questions.

At least 75% of the questions have to be answered correctly to pass the exam. You can take the exam at any time. Failed? No problem, there are 5 exam attempts are included in the price. Note: the online A2 exam requires a webcam.

Certificate

If you pass the exam at the end of the online course you will obtain the following certificate:

• EASA Open-category A2

With this certificate you can fly across Europe with drones within the regulations of all the subcategories of the Open-category. The certificate is issued by RDW on behalf of the Dutch Civil Aviation Authority.
